Capabilities

Marketplace (/marketplace) is the shop. Hero: Deploy what builders ship. Tabs Products | Stores. Sign in before you buy. Partner referrals are not this desk.

What is Marketplace?

Marketplace (/marketplace) is the shop — templates, tools, and apps. Header Marketplace. Hero: Deploy what builders ship. Tabs: Products | Stores. Search: Search projects, templates, assets... Sign in before you buy (Buy Now / Get Free / guest Login to Buy).

Seller hub and payouts

Not a seller yet: Become a seller. Then + Create, Listings, Store, Settings, Sales. Buy is your purchases. List Your Project creates a listing. A listing can also sell a subscription to a Kontext app. Sales Dashboard: Total Earnings, After Kontext platform fee (10%), Platform fee. Stripe sends the money; the dashboard does not claim a payout is pending. Connect in Profile → Payouts — same account as University and Community paid tiers.

What it is not

It is not Partner (referral commissions). Not Hub Apps (apps you built). Not Connected apps (Gmail). Not Hub → Money Earned through the platform. Not KTX (Network wallet). Not University (courses). Not Communities (clubs).

Marketplace (/marketplace) — buy and sell templates, services, digital goods. Seller dashboards and Stripe Connect where enabled.

Route: /marketplace

Intent: Buy and sell Kontext assets — complete apps, templates, AI agents, workflows, business solutions, OS intelligence packs, and UI components. Index-first browse works without sign-in; purchase and seller flows require login. One Stripe Connect account per user shared with University instructor payouts and Partner commissions.

User journeys

MKT-01. Browse the catalog as a guest

Path: /marketplace

You do:

  1. Open Marketplace from the module switcher or go to /marketplace without signing in.
  2. Confirm the unified module header and Products tab load.
  3. Scroll the listing grid and open any card.

Result: You can explore the public catalog without an account; seller and purchase routes stay gated until sign-in.

MKT-02. Open a listing detail page (public)

Path: /marketplace/listing/:id

You do:

  1. From browse, click a listing card (or open a shared link directly).
  2. Review title, description, price, category, tags, and seller info.
  3. Note Buy Now or Get Free — purchase actions prompt sign-in if you are a guest.

Result: Listing detail is publicly readable; buying requires a signed-in buyer with a user canister.

MKT-03. Search and filter listings

Path: /marketplace → header search + filter controls

You do:

  1. Open Marketplace and use the header search box.
  2. Apply category, sort, minimum rating, and price range filters on the Products tab.
  3. Clear filters and search again to confirm results update.

Result: The grid narrows to listings that match your query and filter choices.

MKT-04. Buy a paid listing (Stripe checkout)

Path: Listing detail → Buy Now

You do:

  1. Sign in with a buyer account that has a user canister.
  2. Open a paid listing and click Buy Now.
  3. Complete Stripe checkout on the redirect.
  4. Return to the purchase-success or listing fulfillment view.

Result: Payment succeeds; the listing is yours and fulfillment actions unlock (install, template add, OS import, or download per type).

MKT-05. Claim a free listing

Path: Listing detail → Get Free

You do:

  1. Sign in as a buyer.
  2. Open a listing priced at free.
  3. Click Get Free and wait for confirmation.

Result: completeFreePurchase runs without Stripe; fulfillment matches the listing type.

MKT-06. Install a purchased standard app

Path: Post-purchase → Install App

You do:

  1. After buying a standard app (or AI agent / workflow / business solution) listing, open fulfillment.
  2. Click Install App.
  3. Wait for the project export to land in your workspace.
  4. Optionally click Open in Workspace when offered.

Result: A new workspace project contains the purchased export; you can edit and deploy it like any Kontext project.

MKT-07. Add a purchased app template

Path: Post-purchase → Add Template

You do:

  1. Purchase or claim an app template listing.
  2. Choose Add Template from fulfillment.
  3. Confirm the scaffold project is created.
  4. Open the new project in Workspace.

Result: Template ZIP becomes a starter project — faster than a full app import when you only need the scaffold.

MKT-08. Fulfill an OS intelligence pack

Path: Post-purchase → OS import or Download ZIP

You do:

  1. Buy or claim an OS intelligence pack listing.
  2. Choose OS import to apply the pack to Kontext OS, or Download ZIP for offline use.
  3. Confirm import success in OS or save the ZIP locally.

Result: OS capabilities or brief configuration from the pack are available without manual rebuild.

MKT-09. Open purchased work in Workspace

Path: Fulfillment success → Open in Workspace

You do:

  1. Complete any install or template fulfillment from a recent purchase.
  2. Click Open in Workspace on the success or listing view.
  3. Verify the correct project opens in the Workspace module.

Result: You jump straight from Marketplace into the project you just acquired.

MKT-10. List a project from Workspace (ecosystem flywheel)

Path: Workspace → project → Sell on Marketplace

You do:

  1. Open a project you own in Workspace.
  2. Use project controls → Sell on Marketplace.
  3. Review the pre-filled create form (title, type, export source).
  4. Adjust pricing and metadata, then save as draft or publish.

Result: A listing draft ties to your project export — the ecosystem path from build → sell without re-entering data.

MKT-11. Create and publish a new listing

Path: /marketplace → My Listings → create

You do:

  1. Sign in as a seller and open seller routes (My Listings / create).
  2. Pick a listing type (standard app, template, AI agent, workflow, business solution, OS pack).
  3. Attach the export, set price (or free), category, tags, and description.
  4. Publish when ready.

Result: The listing appears in browse for all users; paid listings require Stripe Connect onboarding first.

MKT-12. Manage publish vs pause sales

Path: /marketplace/my-listings

You do:

  1. Open My Listings for a live listing.
  2. Unpublish to hide from browse while keeping the row, or Publish to show again.
  3. Separately use Pause sales / Resume sales to stop new purchases without unpublishing.
  4. Confirm browse and detail reflect the chosen state.

Result: Visibility and purchasability are independent — you can pause checkout while keeping the page, or fully unpublish.

MKT-13. Onboard Stripe Connect for payouts

Path: Marketplace seller settings → Stripe Connect

You do:

  1. Sign in as a seller who will list paid items.
  2. Start Stripe Connect onboarding from Marketplace (shared with University instructor payouts).
  3. Complete identity and payout details in Stripe’s flow.
  4. Return and confirm paid listing checkout is enabled.

Result: One Connect account per user handles Marketplace seller payouts and University instructor revenue.

MKT-14. Track earnings on the seller dashboard

Path: /marketplace → seller dashboard / sales

You do:

  1. Sign in as a seller who has completed at least one sale.
  2. Open the sales dashboard.
  3. Review live earnings from getSellerEarnings (gross, fees, net as shown in UI).
  4. Cross-check against a recent test purchase if validating deploy.

Result: Non-zero earnings after a sale confirm payout plumbing; platform fee is reflected before seller net.

MKT-15. Visit a public seller store

Path: Profile → Marketplace tab → Visit store → /seller/:handle

You do:

  1. Open a seller’s Kontext profile (or your own).
  2. Go to the Marketplace tab and click Visit store.
  3. Browse listings filtered to that seller’s handle URL.

Result: Public store page showcases one seller’s catalog — useful for creators promoting a single link.

MKT-16. Share a listing to Network

Path: Listing detail → Share to Network

You do:

  1. Open a listing detail page (signed in).
  2. Choose Share to Network from the share menu.
  3. Add optional caption and post.
  4. Open Network and click the link card in the feed.

Result: Feed post includes a preview card; tapping it opens the same listing detail (ecosystem discovery loop).

MKT-17. Discover a listing from OS widget

Path: Kontext OS → Marketplace widget row → listing detail

You do:

  1. Open Kontext OS where the Marketplace widget is surfaced.
  2. Click a featured or recommended listing row.
  3. Confirm navigation to /marketplace/listing/:id.

Result: OS surfaces commerce without leaving the platform shell — browse → buy → install back in Workspace.

MKT-18. Review, respond, and report

Path: Listing detail → reviews section

You do:

  1. As a buyer who owns the listing, leave a star rating and review after fulfillment.
  2. As the seller, open the same listing and respond to the review.
  3. As another user, use report on a review if the UI offers it.

Result: Social proof on listings stays two-way; sellers can clarify; moderation hooks exist for bad content.

MKT-19. Admin unpublish and hard-delete a listing

Path: Admin Marketplace manager

You do:

  1. Sign in as platform admin.
  2. Open the admin listing manager and locate a test listing.
  3. Unpublish and confirm it disappears from public browse.
  4. Run admin hard-delete (adminDeleteMarketplaceListing) to remove index and user-canister rows.

Result: Moderation can hide or fully remove bad listings without leaving orphan index entries.

MKT-20. Upgrade listing tier (Stripe fee checkout)

Path: My Listings → tier upgrade

You do:

  1. Open a listing eligible for tier upgrade (featured / premium placement per product rules).
  2. Start tier upgrade from seller tools.
  3. Complete Stripe fee checkout when prompted.
  4. Confirm upgraded badge or placement in browse.

Result: Paid placement upgrades apply after fee checkout via marketplaceListingTier + Stripe.

You do:

  1. While signed out, try to open a seller URL such as My Listings or create listing.
  2. Observe redirect to sign-in or workspace gate.
  3. Sign in and retry the same URL.
